Lok's Hapkido School

Lok's Hapkido School, the largest Hapkido School in Canada since 1996. The Head Instructor of the school is "Master Michael Lok" who has been Instructing daily classes for thousands of students in his Richmond, British Columbia’s school for the past 15 years.  A Hong Kong borned Chinese, his roots are in Canada where he studied at the University of Regina and practiced Martial Arts at his personal time.

 

In 1985, Michael won his first Canadian Open Sparring Championship and numerous trophies from then on.  In 1996, he promoted his abilities in Richmond by opening the first "Hapkido School in Richmond, BC".

 

In 2004, Michael was featured as the cover story in England's top Martial Arts magazine as "Master Lok - The Next Generation" as he travelled to the European Championship. Much of the success was from the numerous appearances on radio and TV interviews on “Fairchild TV”, "City TV”, newspapers, and released his first book available in November 2009.

 

After years of constant training in Korea, Master Lok was awarded black belt 7th Dan from Korea, the highest rank in Canada. He was also appointed the President position in charge of Headquarter in British Columbia.

 

Recently, Lok’s Hapkido School has won “Reader’s Choice 2009” by Richmond News as the best “Martial Arts School” for the past seven years.

 

On the personal side, Michael has many achievements under his belts including a two times Melvin Jones award winner, the highest award given to Lions Club International member.
